The Mowafaghian Foundation donated $2.5 million to SFU’s Children’s Health Policy Centre, which focuses on improving the social and emotional wellbeing of children through public policy.

The Children’s Health Policy Centre is an interdisciplinary research group within SFU. Through original research, policy consultation, public education, and graduate training, the Centre helps ensure that decisions affecting children and families are informed by rigorous evidence and grounded in the goal of improving child wellbeing. The Centre engages with government, service providers, families, and communities, with a particular emphasis on children’s mental health, early intervention, prevention, and population health.

The Mowafaghian Foundation has supported this work through an endowment providing sustainable funding for research, graduate training, public policy engagement, and public education.
