The Mowafaghian Foundation has donated around $300,000 to Covenant House to support youth aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing (or at risk of experiencing) homelessness or human trafficking.
Covenant House’s programs provide a continuum of care that includes street outreach, drop-in support, crisis shelter, housing, counselling, medical care, life-skills training, and referrals to community services. They take a “one-size-fits-one approach” so that youth can address their unique needs and goals. Through an attachment-based and trauma-informed model, Covenant House helps young people meet immediate needs for safety, shelter, and stability while also supporting longer-term goals such as education, employment, wellness, and independent living.
